About the Artisan Hand-Made Anticatura Patina

The Ravenna is finished using the traditional Anticatura technique, an artisan hand-dyeing process historically associated with fine Italian and French shoemaking. Creating the finish requires approximately 8–10 hours of hand-dyeing and finishing for each pair.

Rather than covering the leather with a single uniform color, the artisan gradually develops multiple tonal layers. Fire orange and warm cognac undertones emerge beneath deeper brown and dark burnished areas, creating the aged depth and visual complexity characteristic of true artisan patina.

The embossed pattern adds another dimension to the process, allowing pigments to settle differently across the raised and recessed surfaces of the leather. The result is a finish with exceptional texture, contrast and depth.
