About the Artisan Hand-Made Anticatura Patina

The Ravello is finished using the traditional Anticatura technique, an artisan antique-finishing process associated with fine Italian and French shoemaking. Each pair requires approximately 8–10 hours of hand-dyeing to develop the remarkable depth, tonal variation and character of the finished leather.

Starting with premium leather, the artisan gradually builds the finish through multiple applications of color rather than covering the upper with a single uniform shade. This allows different tones to interact organically across the shoe, producing areas of rich saturation, softer transitions and deeper burnished shading.

The clean double monk silhouette provides an ideal canvas for this process. With minimal decorative interruption across the upper, the changing tones of the patina become an integral part of the design, emphasizing the elongated shape, narrow Belgravia waist and sculpted profile.
