About the Artisan Hand-Made Anticatura Patina

The Orvieto is finished using Anticatura, the traditional art of antique leather finishing. The process requires approximately 8–10 hours of meticulous hand-dyeing per pair, allowing the artisan to gradually develop the depth, tonal variation and character of the finished leather.

Beginning with premium crust leather, the finish is developed through successive stages rather than applied as a single uniform coating. Lighter and deeper tones interact across the upper, while carefully burnished areas emphasize the toe, heel, edges and sculpted contours of the boot.

The Orvieto's cap-toe construction provides an especially striking canvas for this process. The seam creates a natural architectural division across the forefoot, allowing subtle changes in shading and intensity to further define the silhouette.
