A Few Words from the Brand
Take me everywhere & wear me with everything! Sophisticated casual at its best. Mezlan's quilted calfskin ornamental bit slip-on with organic shearling lining. Wear them with your smoking jacket. Wear them with your designer jeans. Wear them well.
Firstly, I must confess I didn't purchase these from this vendor, however where I purchased doesn't allow reviews. I have many exotic shoes and 3 pairs from Mezlan, but this shoe is superior in all aspects to include price. They are total elegance with flexibility. Considering the design (quilted), you will surely receive many compliments. If I have to be critical and I will, not sure about the faux shearling lining because if you are wearing these in cold weather, then put on a pair of socks and if you are wearing them in warm weather, they will eventually smell! Just doesn't make since to have a lining and because of the lining, I will only wear these sparingly during fall and winter, however these are still a 5 plus start pair of kicks! Can't go wrong with Mezlan for sure!
Mezlan designers continually offer some of the most wonderfully crafted, creative, handsome and comfortable shoes available. The quilted black horsebit loafers are every bit as delightful to wear as they are to look at. With plush Sherpa-like lining, these slip-ons are almost too nice for the street - think indoor lounging or entertaining - but then we’d miss the whole point of such a bespoke quality offering. These shoes deserve to be worn and enjoyed and at the risk of sounding pretentious, admired. They are that handsome. The soft calfskin is a deep, rich dark black with zero defects carefully sculpted into diagonal quilted rows whose lines truly suggest comfort and artisan skill. The Horsebit accent is neither flashy nor muted, striking the perfect combination of understatement and design anchor. Theses shoes are so handsome, they will dress up (yes, tuxedo) or down in any carefully arranged less formal combo. The leather is top notch, thus, I would be careful with every day wear and aggressive terrain. Sorry, but I hope to keep these for many years. Inside, the shoe is fully lined with a plush lamb’s wool-like finish that invites one to go sockless. Personally I won’t as inviting as this is, and likely appropriate, as again, I intend for the shoes to last without the effects of sockless feet. The interior is very soft with excellent support and overall quite comfortable. The sole is full leather and will benefit with the addition of a simple toe and heel cap, easily added from your local shoe repair. I will add to preserve and limit sole wear and see no interruption to the look or design. This is my second pair of Mezlan shoes. I am very impressed with the remarkable craftsmanship for the price. A delightfully reasonable value proposition and designs that stand apart yet hold fast to a look of bespoke and understated class.
